Decapitated - Carnival is Forever.
This album took me a few listens to really appreciate. Now I love it and enthusiastically recommend it for anyone looking for a dose of excellent death metal. Vogg is an absolute beast on the guitar.

Hatchet - Dying to Exist. This is a surprisingly good album! I really like Hatchet’s last one, but Dying to Exist takes it to the next level. The production is excellent and the songs are pretty memorable. I listened to it three times in a row the first time I put the record on. That hardly ever happens for me with a new release. This is great thrash metal that honors the traditions of the best aspects of 80s era thrash with modern flavors. I can’t recommend this highly enough!

Type O Negative - Slow, Deep and Hard. When I first got this album in the 90s I assumed that the picture on the cover was a fuzzy image of some dude in a speedo. I was wrong. The truth is so much better. I can’t believe they got away with this.
